How Does BOTOX® Cosmetic & Dysport Treat Lines and Wrinkles?
BOTOX® is one of the most commonly used injectables for cosmetic and medical reasons. What Causes Premature Lines and Wrinkles?
Sun exposure or UV light is one of the biggest culprits for premature lines and wrinkles. The skin that sees the most exposure is often the first to show signs of aging, which includes the face, neck, chest, arms, and hands. Your skin already produces less elastin and collagen as you age—the proteins responsible for younger, flexible skin tissue—so when you add in UV exposure, the aging process quickens. The UV light diminishes your skin’s connective tissues that contain collagen and elastin, causing your deep skin layer to lose strength and flexibility.
Smoking and an unhealthy diet can also lead to premature aging.
